Video: 3224 W Belle Plaine Ave Before and After
A few weeks back we featured one of 3224 W Belle Plaine Avenue’s bedrooms as our popular “Get The Look” post in Get The Look: How To Decorate A Bed You Want To Dive Into. It was difficult to choose the room that would make the cut, because, well, have you seen the pictures? The bed was (as the title suggests) one you want to dive into, so naturally we wanted to share with you how you could recreate it. But that was just one of the many (newly upgraded) rooms that make up 3224 W Belle Plaine Ave.
This beautiful little home has come a long way. When we first snatched it up it was in dire need of a makeover, yet it still had a lot going for it- tons of charm and a perfect location on a quiet neighborhood street.
This adorable single family house’s sturdy front steps and patio got to stay. All they needed was some sanding and a fresh coat of paint. The demo itself started inside with a new floorplan that opened up the kitchen. The kitchen cabinet tops (wait till you see them)… they had to go! As did the dated floors throughout.
The outdoor space had so much potential! It just needed a little grooming. Ok, a lot of grooming.
Upstairs we gutted everything. The space wasn’t being utilized to its full potential so a couple of walls had to go. Some reconfiguring and hardwood floors did the trick!
As for the basement… it got a full renovation, turning it into a downstairs bedroom.
With a home like this we like to keep all of its character and do everything we can to enhance and modernize it.
